Semantic Landscape (Ultra)

The Semantic Landscape turns your indexed content and your competitors' content into a single 2D map, so you can see why competitors win AI citations — and exactly where your coverage is missing.

How to read the map

Each point is a chunk of indexed content. Points near each other cover similar topics.

  • Blue points are your content. Orange points are competitors'.
  • Violet points are AI answers — the actual responses AI engines gave for the prompts you monitor, embedded and placed on the same map. They show you where the AI's own answers sit relative to your content.
  • Size and opacity reflect the point's AI-visibility score — how often AI answer engines cite that page. Bigger, brighter points are cited more.
  • Ringed points are images; plain points are text.
  • Shaded regions outline topic clusters. Red-shaded regions are Critical Gaps — clusters where competitors have citation density but you have little or no content.

Distance to the AI answer

Click any of your content points to see its Distance to AI answer — how far, in meaning, that page sits from the nearest AI answer on the map (lower is closer). A large distance means the AI's answer covers context, nuance, or sub-topics your content doesn't — exactly what to add to be treated as a top-tier source. The distance is measured in the full 1024-dimension embedding space, not the flattened 2D view.

Filters

Use the left panel to focus the view:

  • Overlays — toggle the competitor citation heatmap, or show only Critical Gaps.
  • Source — show or hide AI answers vs. indexed content. Turn answers off to see just the content landscape, or isolate them to see where the AI is answering from.
  • Ownership / Content type — show or hide your vs. competitor content, and text vs. images.
  • AI engine — weight point sizes by specific engines (e.g. Perplexity only). None selected = all engines.
  • Minimum visibility — hide low-citation points to declutter.
  • Search — highlight matching pages with an animated pulse.

Bridge This Gap

Click a Critical Gap, then Bridge This Gap. Vizzybl reads the competitor content dominating that cluster and drafts an optimization brief — the topic to own, a suggested title, an outline, and target keywords — designed to win those AI citations.

From the brief you can:

  • Create action — file it to your Actions board to track and assign.
  • Discuss in chat — hand the brief to the assistant to refine before you publish.

How it's computed

The map is projected from the same 1024-dimension content embeddings used across Vizzybl (no re-scraping). Competitor content must be indexed first (from the Content Index tab) — the map compares you against competitors, so it needs both. AI-answer points are embedded automatically as your monitored prompts are scraped, so they appear once you've been monitoring prompts.

Projection is computed on demand: click Compute map (or Recompute to refresh). It runs in the background and can take a few minutes; the map updates for everyone on your team when it finishes.
