Managing Credit Spend

Practical advice for getting the most out of your credit allocation each month.

Managing Credit Spend

A practical guide to getting the most out of your monthly credit allocation. For the full action catalog see Credits and Pricing.

Choose the right scan size

Use single-page audits to refine before scaling. A Top 20 audit catches site-wide issues at 40 credits — usually a better first move than jumping straight to a full site scan at 500 credits. Once your single-page audits are clean, step up to Top 20 or Top 50. Full site is best reserved for periodic deep-dive reviews or large content migrations.

Use Fast mode for chat by default

Fast mode is free. Switch to Thinking mode only when you actually need step-by-step reasoning, or you've hit a problem Fast mode can't solve. Each Thinking turn costs 2 credits — 10 Thinking turns is the cost of one single-page audit, so it adds up faster than you'd expect.

Time-box brand intelligence runs

Brand intelligence findings are configured at 15 credits per run, but the action is currently in shadow mode — no credits are deducted and the configured monthly cap is not enforced. What you actually see is capped by tier: Pro surfaces 3 findings per daily package, Ultra and Enterprise see all of them, and the free tier is excluded from findings generation entirely. Schedule these for high-leverage moments (post-launch, post-content-refresh, ahead of a campaign) rather than setting them on autopilot and watching the credits tick away.

Watch infographic generation

At 25 credits per run, infographics are among the most expensive per-run content actions — only the full-site audit (500 credits), the Top 50 audit (85), and the Top 20 audit and semantic landscape run (40 each) cost more. Pro's configured cap is 5 infographics per month, but it is not enforced today — infographic_gen runs in shadow mode, so no credits are deducted and the cap does not trip until pricing_v2 is flipped live. If you need more, step up to Ultra (25/mo) or batch your needs — draft multiple infographic briefs before you run, rather than iterating one draft at a time.

Speech and voice are metered

Speech-to-text is 1 credit per minute, Live Voice is 3 credits per minute. A 30-minute meeting with live transcription costs 90 credits. On paid tiers this adds up quickly if you transcribe routinely — plan for it, or use recordings sparingly.

Pool credits across the team

Multi-seat plans share one pool. If one teammate burns through their share on a big audit run, the rest of the team is affected. Use the Member Usage Breakdown in Settings → Credit Usage (visible to Owners and Admins) to spot heavy users and have a conversation before you hit the ceiling.

Watch holds in flight

Settings → Active Credit Holds shows credits reserved by in-progress actions. If a hold lingers more than a few minutes after the action should have finished, something probably crashed. Wait 24 hours for the auto-refund to kick in, or contact support if you need the credits back sooner.

Know when to upgrade

Concrete signals that the next tier up is worth it:

  • Hitting your audit cap repeatedly — next tier up usually pays for itself
  • You need full-site audits — Ultra unlocks the full site scan action
  • Multiple brands or a marketing team — Enterprise's pooling is built for this, with unlimited team members sharing one allowance

*Configured but not enforced today — brand_intelligence_findings runs in shadow mode, so no credits are deducted and the cap never trips. The limit you actually experience is how many findings are displayed per tier: Pro 3, Ultra and Enterprise unlimited, free none (free tenants are excluded from findings generation). | infographic_gen | 5/mo | 25/mo | Unlimited | | deep_research | 2/mo | 4/mo | Unlimited | | All other paid-tier actions | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |

"Unlimited" still draws from your total credit pool — there's no per-action cap, but every action costs credits.
