Credits FAQ

Common questions about how credits are charged, refunded, and limited. For the full action catalog see Credits and Pricing.

Why did my balance drop without a debit showing in my audit trail?

You probably have an active credit hold. Vizzybl reserves credits up-front for actions like audits and refunds the unused portion when the action completes — or all of it if the action fails. Check Settings → Credit Usage → Active Credit Holds to see what's currently reserved. The reserved amount returns automatically when the action finishes, or when the hold expires (within 24 hours).

Will I get refunded if my audit fails?

Yes, automatically. Failed audits cancel the credit hold and return all reserved credits to your team pool. No manual intervention needed.

What if a deep audit falls back to single-page partway through?

Same auto-refund — you'll only be charged for the single-page audit, not the deep one. The difference returns to your balance and the audit trail shows one debit for the actual scope completed.

What happens when I hit a monthly cap on an action?

The action is blocked for the remainder of the calendar month and you'll see a clear message explaining the cap. You can either upgrade your tier (which raises the cap) or wait until the next billing cycle. Caps reset on the first of the month UTC.

Why does Thinking mode chat cost credits when Fast mode is free?

Thinking mode runs deeper reasoning that uses significantly more compute per turn. Charging keeps it sustainable and rewards using the right tool for the job — Fast mode for quick questions, Thinking mode for hard problems that need step-by-step analysis.

Why can't I run brand intelligence on the free tier?

Brand intelligence findings are a high-cost feature reserved for paid tiers. Each run aggregates many AI provider calls behind the scenes. The free tier is designed to let you try Vizzybl's core audit capability before committing to a paid plan.

How do I see what each agent action costs me before running it?

Open Settings → Credit Usage. The This Month's Action Usage panel shows each action's credit cost, your usage this month, and any tier limits. The agent chat will also tell you the cost in its response when an action requires credits — you always get to confirm before anything is charged.

Where do unused credits go at month end?

On the free tier, unused credits expire at the period boundary. On paid tiers a small rollover (roughly 10% of your base allocation) carries to the next period — see your team's credit settings for the exact amount.
