Metrics Explained

Understand every metric in Vizzybl, from the AI Visibility Index to individual pillar scores.

Metrics Explained

Vizzybl produces a hierarchy of scores that measure your AI visibility from different angles. This page explains what each metric measures and how to interpret it.

AI Visibility Index (AIVI)

The AI Visibility Index is your headline metric. It appears at the top of every audit report.

Formula: (GEO Readiness × 0.6) + (Share of Voice × 0.4)

  • Range: 0–100
  • What it measures: A balanced view of your optimization potential and actual AI platform performance
  • How to improve: Increase your GEO Readiness score through content optimization and boost Share of Voice through prompt monitoring and brand building

The 60/40 weighting reflects that optimization (what you can control) matters more than current mentions (which lag behind improvements).

GEO Readiness

GEO Readiness measures how well your content is optimized for AI citation.

  • Range: 0–100
  • Calculation: Dynamic average of your pillar scores (Technical, Content, Authority, and optionally Media)
  • When Media is included: If you enable media analysis during an audit, it becomes the fourth pillar in the average
  • How to improve: Follow the recommendations in each pillar breakdown

Share of Voice

Share of Voice measures how often AI platforms mention your brand when users ask relevant questions.

  • Range: 0–100
  • Tracked across: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Grok, and Google AI Overviews
  • Updated through: Prompt monitoring results — the more prompts you monitor, the more accurate this score becomes
  • Includes: Mention frequency, sentiment analysis (positive, neutral, negative), and citation source classification

Prompt Bias Index

The Prompt Bias Index measures how well your brand appears in discovery prompts compared to branded prompts.

  • Range: 0–200
  • What it measures: The ratio of your brand's discovery mention rate to your branded mention rate
  • Formula: (Discovery Mention Rate / Branded Mention Rate) × 100

Discovery Mention Rate is the percentage of AI responses to unbranded prompts (e.g., "best consulting firms") where your brand appears at least once. Branded Mention Rate is the same metric for branded prompts (e.g., "is CapGemini good for cloud?").

A score of 100 means your brand shows up in discovery prompts just as often as branded ones — strong organic visibility.

Benchmark zones

ZoneScoreWhat it means
The Ghost0–20Your brand rarely appears in discovery prompts. Invest in discovery-stage content.
The Echo Chamber21–40You show up mostly when people search for you by name. Diversify beyond brand queries.
The Rising Star41–70Growing organic visibility. Maintain momentum in unbranded content.
The Market Leader71–110Balanced presence across branded and discovery prompts. Protect your position.
The Legacy Giant111–200Your brand dominates even unbranded queries. Monitor for brand erosion signals.

How to improve

  • Add more discovery prompts to your monitoring set — these are prompts that describe your category without naming your brand
  • Optimize content for category-level queries, not only branded terms
  • Track which AI platforms mention you in discovery contexts using the platform breakdown

Pillar scores

Each pillar score breaks down a specific dimension of your GEO readiness.

Technical score

Measures your page's infrastructure readiness for AI engines.

  • Semantic HTML — Heading hierarchy, landmark elements, structured containers
  • Schema.org validation — Presence and correctness of structured data (FAQPage, Product, HowTo, Article)
  • AI bot accessrobots.txt configuration, llms.txt presence, bot-blocking detection
  • Performance — Page load fundamentals that affect crawl priority

Content score

Measures the quality and structure of your content for AI extraction.

  • Nugget density — Percentage of concise, quotable statements relative to total content
  • Freshness — Recency of publication and modification dates, changelog presence
  • Transparency — Author attribution, source citations, methodology disclosure

  • Entity recognition — Knowledge graph presence and entity authority
  • Description alignment — Consistency between your brand description and how AI models describe you
